I have two tables, SSR and HOMOLOGY. The latter has a column SSR_ID which in
the database is a foreign key to the ID column of SSR.
I create queries like this on the two tables in JBuilder 9 Personal, which I
downloaded two weeks ago so I assume it's the latest version.:
select * from ssr
select * from homology where ssr_id = :id
and I add SSR as a parameter to the second query, all using the designers
provided. This seems to work OK. I then add a MasterLink to the HOMOLOGY
table, linking the SSR.ID column to HOMOLOGY.SSR_ID. This causes the error
message "HOMOLOGY Operation not allowed on an empty SSR DataSet".
I know that both tables are empty, because this application will be the data
entry utility for them. However, it seems that without data in the tables, I
cannot design the application! The above error occurs in the designer
windows, and as a result no columns at all show up in the column list, and I
can't add any properties to them. The same error occurs on trying to run the
Is this a bug or am I missing something?
