JBuilder 9 Personal X HSQLDB 1.7.22003-09-15 08:06:30 PM jbuilder22 Hi all! I'm trying to use JBuilder 9 with HSQLDB 1.7.2 and, when I use a QueryDataSet in IDE, and open the DB, Jbuilder locks the database and a exception occurs when I try to run my app with Jbuilder opened. Apparently JBuilder retains the DB locked for use in ID design. Does somebody knows a way to solve this? Thanks! P.S. Sorry about my English. |

Are you running hsqldb in local mode?
If so try switching to client-server mode (perhaps locks on the file level are the cause). Michel. "_Crazy_Dog_" < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >wrote: QuoteHi all! |

Re:JBuilder 9 Personal X HSQLDB 1.7.2
Hi Patricio,
1 suggestion: You should ALWAYS post your questions to the newsgroup, never directly to the person who is trying to help you (unless he invites you to continue the discussion off-line). The main reason for this is: anything you would like to add to the discussion might also be of interest to other newsgroup readers, so share the knowledge (and the questions), don't keep them to yourselves. As to your question. Why would you like to start the DB server from your app (I'm supposing client-app)? That would start 1 DB server for each client app. Normally you should have 1 server and several clients. So, unless you have some very good reason, just start the hsqldb server with the script that is provided in its distribution (bin/hsqldbserver) Michel. ----------------------------------------------------- Thank's Michel. Do you have an example of how to start a server from my app? I'm using the code below. It's ok? org.hsqldb.Server s = new org.hsqldb.Server(); s.setDatabasePath(0,"c:\\cadastro_de_cd\\cadcd\\data\\cadcd"); s.setSilent(true); s.start(); ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michel Verbist" < XXXX@XXXXX.COM > Newsgroups: borland.public.jbuilder.database Sent: Monday, September 15, 2003 9:51 AM Subject: Re: JBuilder 9 Personal X HSQLDB 1.7.2 Quote> |
