cant associate updown control with edit control

cant associate updown control with edit control

i have an edit control and an updown control, on the updown conrol i select
the associate property and pick the name of the edit control and click it.
but the associate field remains blank. i have other edit/updowns that work
fine....grrrrrrr!

Nevermind, I fixed it. had to delete the UD control and re-add it placing it
right next to the edit control. seems if you place it somewhere else (i
think i tried to copy and paste and existing one) then it wont work.
