Windows Mediaplayer (msdxm.ocx) crashing Delphi 6 IDE
Hi,
I have a problem with a TFrame which I was building to encapsulate the Windows
Media Player control which results in the application producing a GPF if the
user closes it when the MediaPlayer is playing. I'm talking about the Windows
Media Player v6.4.
So I tried to reproduce the behaviour in a simpler environment and I put just
the MediaPlayer control on a form with a button and the
WinMediaPlayer1.Open('some.asf') command.
Then I tried to close the form when the Mp was playing and this time nothing
happened. I was beginning to think of having done something weird in the TFrame
but when I tried to reload that project or doing anything from starting a new
project to closing down the IDE, Delphi started popping up endless error
messages like these:
---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
Access violation at address 002EE160 in module 'vcl60.bpl'. Read of address
00000028.

..and they kept happening endlessly with different addresses so that I had to
shut the IDE down by killing it. I have reproduced this behaviour over and
over, so I wonder: has anybody else been experiencing the same problem ?
I'm using Delphi 6 Enterprise (Build 6.190) with Update Pack 1.
The MediaPlayer OCX is msdxm.ocx and version 6.4.9.1116.
Everything is running on Windows 2k Workstation SP2+all pertinent fixes. A part
from this problem, the activex control is behaving quite nicely.
Thanks,
CiAo! Et
