BDE Error 11047 / 11109

When using the Database Explorer from Delphi 2.0 and BDE 5.01 I am getting
the following Error message:

Unknown internal operating system error.

The BDE errors that show up in the details are 11047 and 11109.

Does anyone know what's causing this and how to fix it?

Thx,
DRiden

Hi Gary,
Unfortunately, I'd already found this much in the TIs.  Thanks for the help
though:)

Do you have any idea what these really mean and how to solve them?

I noticed that as soon as I moved the files in question from a Novell server
to a local directory the program works fine.  It makes me wonder about the
MS network client.

Thx,
Dean

11109 would suggest that it's a network problem, but I wouldn't know
where to begin trying to solve it.  Does this just occur on one
workstation?

Wouldn't you figure. <G>  Just after I posted the message saying I had
no idea, I see someone in a vdbase having the same 11109 error.  In
his case, under Win95 with a directory set to SHARE and READ-ONLY he
gets the 11109.

Hope this helps,

Gary

Re:BDE Error 11047 / 11109

Hi Gary,
I've traced down the problem.  It seems there is a problem with the
Microsoft "Netware" drivers.

Knowing it was a network error, I tried moving the files to a local drive
and the problem went away.  I then decided to either move the files to an NT
server or try a different networking client (I'd read a document about
problems with MS and opportunistic locking in certain situations).

I installed and tried Novell's IntraNetWare client for MS Windows NT 4.0 and
the problem was instantly fixed as well as another DOS type problem that I'd
noticed and didn't know what to do about.

Obviously, there is a problem with MS's client which I have no idea how to
get fixed.  In any case, this is a definite workaround.

As for the guy with W'95, there is also a Novell client for W'95.  You might
want to recommend he try it.

Thanks for your help!

Dean

I always recommend Novell's Client32. <G>  I've had nothing but good
luck with it.
