Problem with BDE 4.51 and International Characters

Under BDE 3.5
Take a Dbase table with foreign characters and use
batch move to put the data into a paradox table
(which was created using the paradox Intl
character set). Characters are fine in the new
table

Install BDE 4.51
Do exactly the same thing. The characters are
mangled in the paradox table.

Any help, hints, thoughts or commiseration would
be appreciated.

Turns out the default character set for DBASE is
ASCII ANSI. I changed this to ENU cp850 and all
worked fine.

I don't know how the BDE config changed when I
upgraded the BDE (or if it did), but who cares,
the problem is solved.
