Faulty Installation 2003 jvm2005-06-11 02:02:50 AM delphi212 There seems to be a major problem installing Interbase server on Windows 2003 server. Loading the CD gives an error which amounts to 'jvm.dll not found, either reload the JVM or change the application'. The first question has to be "Why should an installation program need the jvm, shorly a simple installation program written in Delphi or C++ should suffice?". Given that a JVM nees to be instaled, I loaded the Sun Java Environment which created the necessary file, and the test page supplied by Sun did work. But not the Interbase installation program which simply repeated the same error message. So the next two questions must be "What do I have to do to get the installation to work?" and "Where does Interbase expect to find the jvm.dll file?" Now supposing I can not get the installation program to work, "Is there an alternative way of conduction the installation without using the supplied installation program?" Then finally, "Is the Interbase assembly contained in the Desktop edition the same as the Server Assembly? and could I use a DT installation with the Server Licence file (.slp) instead of the Server Installation?"
