Anyone using ReportSmith 2.5 with any ODBC (Specifically SQL Anywhere) I can't connect

I know about the RS 3.0 patch to allow connection to a generic ODBC/SQL
database. But I is there a patch for 2.5 (probably not). I've contacted
the new maintainers/owners of RS (their support folks) and only got "I'll
have someone call you back"
