Database Problem: "Not Initialized for Network"

I'm using Delphi 1 and Paradox tables. I have a PDOXUSRS.NET file in a
directory on my network (LAN) drive. The DBE "net dir" points to that
directory. Yet when I put a table on the network drive and try to open
it with a table component from delphi (OR when I try to create a new
table on the network drive with either Paradox or Database Desktop) a
get a "Not Initialized for Network" error message. Can someone please
help?
