"File name is too long"

How long can be the path to a database ?

One of my clients has received this error message: "File name is too long
for a Paradox version 5.0 table".

His path has 79 characters.

Try upgrading the table to level 7. Also, what version of the BDE is your
client using?

Update the table level to 7 or shorten the path

in level 5, the path is limited to 78 characters.
Upgrade it to level 7, where the limit is 260 characters
