Native SQL Links '4' MS SQL

Has anyone had the following error,

'Connection is in use by another statement'??

I've seen it once or twice during program development. Usually it
occurs when the application crashes while the database is in use.
(Can't define it any close than that.) My usual recourse is to stop and
restart the SQL engine (I'm using MS-SQL 6.5 workstation edition on an
NT4 W/S desktop machine for development.)
