i have menu items associated with TAction objects. These TActions has
assigned hint property. When some ToolButton is assigned to specific taction
it shows hint window, but similar situation with menuitem doesnt show any
hint. Is there any way to show hint windows to menu items?
or at least to show hints in the statusbar.

Not built-in no. Hints on menus would seem really wierd since no other
application actually does that (at least that I am familiar with).

Drop a statusbar and set it is AutoHint property to true.

Do you have a long hint set for the menu items? FTR, a long hint is what
appears after the vertical bar which should be after the short hint:
<short hint>|<long hint>
