Help FIles, RTF and superscript and subscript. HELP

I have been trying to compile a help file (using HC31.EXE) that contains
superscript and subscript characters. The file was created in Word 6.0,
saved as RTF and compiled, but alas, no super and subscript formatting
in the HLP file. If any body can shed some light on my problem, it
would be appreciated.

Rod,

The Microsoft Help Compiler can not handle super or sub-cripts. There is
nothing you can do about it.

Microsoft is going to replace the current WinHelp with an HTML based
solution, that will hopefully support these features.

If you want to get ready for the move from WinHelp to HTML you might want
to check our home page to get information about HTMheLp - Our 2 way
conversion between HTML and WinHelp.

With Help Magician Pro 3.1 from Software Interphase, I have
successfully used superscript in my help files. I have never attempted
subscript.

Help Magician Pro is an incredibly useful stand-alone, WYSIWYG help
authoring tool. I highly recommend it.

And they actually are seen in the help file ? - To the best of my
knowledge that can not be done with standard WinHelp, 2 things come to
mind -

1. HM translates the superscripts to bmp's and insert's them in. (Hard to
do and get exact positioning - and will make the help file much bigger
because it will use bmp files for the text).

2, Use an embedded window DLL - once again not trivial and might lead to
big help files (or actually big distribution sets).
