Nice, works perfectly for me :)
I just start 2 days ago migrating all my reports from QuickReport to Rave.
Rave is a great tool, but it's not OpenSource. I saw sometimes ago
ReportManager, but I don't know why, I forgot it when it was time to decide
which report tool to use. But I still can leave Rave and use it (I love
OpenSource).
I've just read the features of ReportManager and it seems that it's a pretty
complete tool. I still have some questions :
* Is it an obligation to use the report server ? If I just have one
application doing reports on 1 client, I don't know if I want to have a
service just to do it.
* What are the real charting capabilities of Report Manager ? I have some
Quick Report reports using TeeChart. Is it easy to migrate them. (Rave
doesn't have charting at all !)
* I see External sections in the features. Does that mean that I can use a
section from a report stored in another file than the current report ?
* Can I have diagonal lines (neither horizontal nor vertical) ?
* Is the project alive ? (Well I guess it's alive, you just released a nice
web server, but what I really want to know is : Will I have to wait 18
months between versions ?)
* what are the other advantages of ReportManager over RaveReport ?
* are there a lot of users of ReportManager ? A lot of user means a lot of
maintainer ?
* What about donnating ReportManager to the Jedi Project ? You'll still be
the owner and you'll get more developpers.
Well, in fact, can you tell me why I should use ReportManager instead of
RaveReport ? :)
I stop the migration of my reports until I get your answers, I think
ReportMan is a nice product and I have to look furher ...
Julien
PS : If I ever decide to use ReportManager, I'm ready, in the limits of my
free time of course (even if, at the moment, I don't have so much free time
...) to help the project
