Interbase {*word*218}

HI Guys,

We have just put in a new server for the primary purpose of running
Interbase. We spec'd it with a single Xenon 2.2ghz processor and it
unfortunately arrived with dual processors.

The dual processors will be quite handy for the other work we do but I know
IB 6.01 has a problem with it.

Could someone refresh me how to force IB to use the one processor.

Also any hints and tips on how to set the correct amount of cache, ib
settings etc etc would be a help.

For information, the machine has 2 x 2.2 GHZ Xenon CPU's, an Adpatec 3210
256mb Raid card running 4 x 15k rev U160 drives on each of its two channels
Raided in mode 0. It has 1gb of RAM.

Thanks.

Andy.

Download IBAffinity from
http://www.ibphoenix.com/ibp_contrib_download.html.

With IB 6.5 you can use the CPU_AFFINITY directive in the ibconfig
file.
