C++ Exception with Delphi5 CS on Windows 2000 Pro

I really need some help.  I am running Delphi5 CS, service pack 1 on
Windows 2000 Pro.  A BDE project with Access 97 database runs
perfectly in the IDE.  However, when the exe is run standalone it gets
an error "C++ Exception".  
I can then run the exe on Windows 98 and it runs normally.
I compiled the project on Windows 98 and then when that exe
runs on Windows 2000 it gets a error "External Exception EEFFace".
I have done everything I know to locate this problem and I am
stumped.  
Please help, Team B or anyone.
