The client software for Microsoft Access (i.e., the Jet engine) has
changed. The BDE native driver for Access does not support this new client
software (at least not at the current time). To use Access 2000 databases
in Delphi, you need to do so through ADO or an ODBC driver.

Using ADO, access the database through the TADOConnection component. This
does require an ADO provider for Access 2000. You will either have this or
need to get it from Microsoft. An ODBC driver capable of using Access 2000
databases will suffice for this purpose. This approach does not use the BDE
at all.

Using an ODBC driver (and not ADO), you can implement the database access
using the BDE. Get an ODBC driver compatible with Access 2000 from
Microsoft (or possibly some other vendor).

It really depends on the ADO provider, not Delphi. I have not heard of ADP
providers that were incapable of operating in a multi-user environment.
