Win98, BDE32 and Delphi 2.0

I recently replaced my old 486 (Win95) with a lovely new P2-400 Dell (Win98)
and installed Delphi 2.0 from the CD (Haven't caught up with Delphi 4 yet -
486 was too slow!)

However - now I can't access my Paradox tables - I keep getting "Invalid
file name" from Delphi (and my apps) and Database Explorer BUT Database
Desktop (v7 as supplied) can read, edit and generally work with the tables.

Can anybody help?  Email replies to e...@netcomuk.co.uk would be much
appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Ed,
Are you using any long filenames? Any spaces in filenames? [this
causes strange problems for some operations]

  Upgrade to BDE 5.01....  --  The BDE version you're using isn't FAT32
compatible....

Re:Win98, BDE32 and Delphi 2.0

Kees,

But Ed is using Delphi 2, and that version of the BDE was released
before FAT32. There was a new BDE release right after FAT32 that
fixed the incompatibilities.

Re:Win98, BDE32 and Delphi 2.0

I upgraded to BDE 3.5 which is the earliest that handles FAT32

Many thanks to all who helped.

Ed.
