Re: How many lines of code per programmer-hour?
I remember when it used to be considered very productive to produce 10
lines of code per hour, no matter the language. Now I hear of one-man projects with a million lines of source code. Even it they took 5 years at 3000 hours per year to write, that computes to 67 lines per hour. Is the "improvement" all do to the development systems or is there more to it? --JohnH |

QuoteI remember when it used to be considered very productive to produce 10 total code from about 15000 lines of code to around 8000. I was also increasing the functionality. Took me about 2 weeks, so I guess I wrote around -87.5 lines per hour. |

At this point in time, I am by no means an expert C++ programmer. There are many things I need to find out and prove to my own satisfaction to ever claim that. I certainly don't know how to write the same level of Lean/Clean code in C++ that I do in Delphi. The main reason for this is that C++ is a much *bigger* language. From my current perspective it is *vast*. I am not averse to actually writing a code generator in Delphi to spit out C++ code for instance... <g>And this is precisely one of my projects for the BREW platform.
