Re:How to install BDE manually?
I'm trying to understand where your problem is. How are you installing the
BDE? Are you using your own install built with InstallShield or Wise? Or maybe something from ibinstall.defined.net like Bill suggested? What operating system are you installing on? Is the install failing, or is it your application that's failing after it's installed? Keep in mind that on Win 2000 or XP, you'll need to be running the install as a user with elevated privleges. The install for the BDE needs to be able to write to HKLM and thus needs the appropriate rights to do so. Also, when using the BDE Admin tool, stuff will be written to HKLM, so to use this tool once the BDE has been installed you'll again need rights to HKLM. {smallsort} |

Re:How to install BDE manually?
I am installing the BDE manually, writing in the keys of windows manually.
But to write in the register of windows and only to copy the archives we minimos necessary the BDE nao functions Necessary to install minimo possible of the BDE for table paradox, because it has that to fit in only one floppy. When use the BDEINST.DLL functions OK, but it has bug with XP and generates more the 3 floppies more than. Summarizing: Necessary to install the BDE with minimo of archives: USA.BTL" EUROPE.BTL IDR20009.DLL IDAPI32.DLL BLW32.DLL IDAPI32.CFG Driver Table paradox: IDPDX32.DLL Keys Windows: HKLM Software\Borland Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\BLW32"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "BLAPIPATH"; ValueData: "{pf}\BORLAND\COMMON FILES\BDE" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\BLW32"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "LOCALE_LIB1"; ValueData: "{pf}\BORLAND\COMMON FILES\BDE\USA.BTL" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\BLW32"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "LOCALE_LIB2"; ValueData: "{pf}\BORLAND\COMMON FILES\BDE\EUROPE.BTL" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\Database Engine"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "DLLPATH"; ValueData: "{pf}\BORLAND\COMMON FILES\BDE" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\Database Engine"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "CONFIGFILE01"; ValueData: "{pf}\BORLAND\COMMON FILES\BDE\IDAPI32.CFG" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\Database Engine\Settings\DRIVERS\PARADOX\INIT"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "LANGDRIVER"; ValueData: "ANSII850" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\Database Engine\Settings\DRIVERS\PARADOX\INIT"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "TYPE"; ValueData: "FILE" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\Database Engine\Settings\DRIVERS\PARADOX\INIT"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "VERSION"; ValueData: "4.0" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\Database Engine\Settings\DRIVERS\PARADOX\TABLE CREATE"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "BLOCK SIZE"; ValueData: "2048" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\Database Engine\Settings\DRIVERS\PARADOX\TABLE CREATE"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "FILL FACTOR"; ValueData: "95" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\Database Engine\Settings\DRIVERS\PARADOX\TABLE CREATE"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "LEVEL"; ValueData: "4" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\Database Engine\Settings\DRIVERS\PARADOX\TABLE CREATE"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "STRICTINTEGRTY"; ValueData: "TRUE" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\Database Engine\Settings\SYSTEM\INIT"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "DEFAULT DRIVER"; ValueData: "PARADOX" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\Database Engine\Settings\SYSTEM\INIT"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "LANGDRIVER"; ValueData: "ANSII850" Root: HKLM; Subkey: "Software\Borland\Database Engine\Settings\SYSTEM\INIT"; ValueType: string; ValueName: "LOCAL SHARE"; ValueData: "FALSE" Oks Thanks César "Chris Pettingill" < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >escreveu na mensagem QuoteI'm trying to understand where your problem is. Re:How to install BDE manually?
César,
Inno Setup is NOT a supported installer program for the BDE. So getting help to install the BDE with Inno isn't likely to happen here. Your only 'supported' or 'approved' options are the installer programs Wise or Installshield. Other than those, you'll have to find someone who is willing to help with Inno. However, I believe the 'redistribution' license for the BDE REQUIRES one of those other 2 installers. Using Inno Setup is NOT a 'legal' method for distributing the BDE. Re:How to install BDE manually?
Ok so now that I have the correct delivery agent for BDE how do I setup an
BDE link in runtine w/o the use of BDE Administrator? I have a small network of about 500 workstations sitting around the country and to go the each and everyone to setup the BDE is not an option or so I am told. The installation of BDE is not an problem I have a small program that updates/executes anything I want when the application is started, isn't there a way that I can write an automated BDE link creator?
