Even at this late date, I don't see any
mention on the website of who the
keynote speakers will be.
Other years, they have been the headline acts.
Any ideas?

I would have to guess that, being the 20th anniversary of Borland, they'll
be getting some top notch people.

It's not that "late". In the past, keynote speakers haven't been
announced until a few weeks before the conference.

Re:keynote speakers

Perhaps my memory is faulty, but I clearly remember
the keynote speakers being listed in the brochure
that went out, I thought, a couple of months ahead
of time.

It has happened in the past, but IIRC only with the second or third
wave of mailings.
I think, however, that the speakers will, as always, be good ones.

Wouldn't that be a hoot. <LOL>Did you ever see his videotape, "The World

We'll post the complete list of keynote speakers once we've confirmed them
all, instead of posting them as they happen.
Just a little question - do you think that the industry keynote speakers are
a attendence deciding factor?

I certainly understand the question. 8:-)
I would probably be wondering (skeptically) the same thing.
But, yes. My boss is on the fence about going.
He is a manager, not a developer, and has never been
to a BorCon. But we are, by fits and starts, trying to become
a more professional development shop.
So, he is intrigued by the management track.
The keynote speakers by themselves are certainly not
enough, but I need all the leverage I can get.
Perhaps combined with an idea of what the "selected products" are.
One option might be posting who we have at some late date
before the early deadline and the rest after you have all.
BTW, I'm assuming that there will be a discount on D8
even if it hasn't been released yet. IIRC, you normally
give out the products right there, but I don't see why
it can't be like pre-ordering.

Yes, but not a huge factor. Most people need to have
conference/training requests done well in advance of the keynote
announcements.
On the other hand, I do believe it adds to the overall value to the
conference.

Not a deciding factor, more like (hopefully) icing on the cake. They do
greatly impact my enjoyment of the conference, however. For example, I
thoroughly enjoyed Guy Kawasaki's talk a couple of years ago, but was
disappointed with Gosling's talk last year. This also (oddly) seems to
parallel my general impression of the whole conference.
