BDE incompatible with Windows XP SP22004-07-23 12:58:40 AM off-topic19 Just a FYI for those of you that haven't tried the XP service pack 2 beta and are using the BDE - there is a incompatability between the two that I'm not sure will be resolved before the SP2 is publically released. In short the BDE will allow 1 instance of a program to run at a time. If you attempt to run a 2nd instance, you get a error stating that 'the Driver cannot be loaded'. Killing the 1st session will then allow another program to take it's place. If anyone has found a fix for this problem, I would really like to know - otherwise, just a friendly 'head's up'. -- Quote>larry << "Failure is when Fantasy meets Reality" Note to all I correspond with: Please don't send me chain email messages, I don't usually read them (most are not of any interest to me) and I *never* forward them to others because I don't believe in them. Thanks. Note about attachments: With all the viruses that are about, I always recommend that you becareful when opening email any attachments. ANY email attachments that I personally send will always be accompanied by a personalized note explaining the attachment, not a phrase like 'see attachment or take a look at this'. |
